31 Days, 31 Questions About Weddings...Help Me Please! Day 13: Food

Day 13 Question:

What was your favorite meal type/food for a wedding?

There are SO MANY options here. I've seen people do buffets, traditional sit-downs, heavy hors d'oeuvres, stations...

With the budget always on our minds, we are looking for a budget-friendly option that will also be fun and enjoyable for our guests. This certainly won't be a filet and lobster kind of wedding and overly ethnic foods are out of the question, but I'd like to serve something other than the very traditional "chicken and rigi" (that would be our word for rigatoni).

Thoughts?

  1. Depends on the time of day of the wedding......Morning, afternoon, evening, fancy, simple, country? Need more details before I can comment on this one.

    1. They almost always serve chicken - its a favorite with almost everyone. You could serve roast beef also. It really depends if it is sit down or buffet.

  3. Being a vegetarian, I've always appreciated buffets instead of having to request a special plate that doesn't have chicken OR fish.

  4. Desserts & champagne. Tell guests in invitation what to expect.

  5. I LOVE sit down beef/chicken options ... but that's almost cost prohibitive these days. You might consider kabobs - chicken, beef or veggie ? Little "slider" type sandwiches ?
