Oh, I am so so so so SO thankful for creativity!
My brain is constantly on, spinning with schedules, plans, ideas...it can actually get quite exhausting.
Everything I see runs through the "I Can Do Something With This" folder in my head.
I have been creating for (literally) as long as I can remember. I'm not talking about the traditional preschool crafts: we've all made those handprint turkeys, popsicle stick boxes, and (back in the '80s when it was still OK to be a smoker) mosaic ashtrays. For the record, though, the angel tree topper I made in kindergarten when I was 5 years old made it's 28th proud appearance at the top of my mother's Christmas tree this past season.
Today, as you likely know, I put my creativity to good use by channeling my inner artist to create my unique, one of a kind upcycled jewelry pieces. The business has been amazingly successful with the help of many, many, many people and resources...including creativity. For that, I am thankful!
How does creativity play a role in your life?
"The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources." -Albert Einstein

ReplyDeleteoh....and LOVE the new banner !!! so enticing !
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog tonight but not sure now how I got here. The girl in lower left of picture of girls sewing looks so much like me. I was born in 1940 so the clothes and hairdos look like my generation.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm not making something, I'm planning it or looking for inspiration which I get so much of from the excellent blogs I am privileged to read every day.
I've always crafted in one way or another since I was very small. I had a rather creative extended family, my Father was an oil landscape painter. Aunts and Uncles that created, my Mother and Aunt sewed so did I and still do. If I couldn't craft I'm not sure what I'd do. It makes me feel so excited to make things, decorate our home.
Altho now I have difficulty doing some things with my hands I just keep working on finding ways to overcome the problem but keep creating. I find myself being more creative than even due to all the stimulation I get from the blogs. I've tried things I never thought I'd do or be interested in.
You sound like creating is extremely important in your life, good for you for answering that need to fulfill yourself. It seems to me it's hard to deny the urge to create. It's fun to find the thing that most fulfills our creativity. I can't just sit watching tv unless I'm one sick puppy. I need to be reading something, gleaning inspiration. So happy for you to have found what answers your need. Keep on Creating.
Hello! I'm not sure how you got here...but I'm so glad you found me! Thank you so much for sharing your story. Creating IS extremely important in my life; I LOVE it! Thank you so much for your well wishes!
