31 Days, 31 Ways to Bring Joy: Day 23: Love

I don't think it's possible to say or hear the words
"I love you"
without feeling joy.

Today's task is easy:
Say it.
Say "I love you" to someone you love.
Heck, say it to EVERYONE you love.
You can even say it a few times...
no one who loves you too is going to turn you away!

It's February...Now What?!

country living fair
Whew!

I just blogged for 31 days, and boy is my brain tired!

...well, not really.

Actually, I feel more centered now than I have ever been. Taking a 31 day inventory of my world and how much I have to be thankful for has given me a renewed energy; the excitement is electrifying.

With my new found sense of self and entrepreneurship, I am entering into February with some amazing new blog friends who I am grateful to have in my world. I have come to be a part of one of the most dynamic, creative, truly inspiring group of women I have ever known.

This month, I will take the opportunity to highlight 14 blogs that I love.
It's terribly difficult to narrow it down to just a few, but quite frankly,
my little fingers need to blog less and create more (jewelry, that is).
Throughout the month, I will take opportunities to share
the names and links of my new friends' blogs as well.

I thank you again for joining me on my 31 Days, 31 Reasons to be Thankful blog series, and I welcome you to hop on board and follow the series to spotlight bel monili's Fantastic 14!

If you would like to have your blog included in a post link, please be sure to follow my blog and post your blog's link in the comments below! Thanks for reading!

31 Days, 31 Reasons to be Thankful: January 11: The Little Dog

Diva and I on her 10th birthday
For those of you who know me, you know that I love my dog. I have a 10 year old Boston Terrier named Diva, and she is the center of my world.
Diva in her younger years
Diva was born on December 14, 2002, and she was the runt of her litter. Several weeks later, on February 4, 2003, I brought my little Diva home (all 11 ounces of her). She was so tiny that she slept in the toes of my sneakers. With 2 roommates, it was actually a little bit difficult to keep track of her!
Diva needs her rest
Over the years, Diva and I have grown to have a good working relationship. I pay the bills, she runs the house. She has traveled with me, moved with me, snuggled with me...she's been my partner through thick and thin.
She prefers not to be disturbed
Diva's antics have become somewhat of a popular topic; she recently "starred" in a series titled, "Where's the Little Dog?". Over the years, there have been many times where I had to really stop and search for Diva, as she has the tendency to burrow and hide. Here are a few of my favorites; see if you can answer the question, "where's the little dog?"
Where's the little dog?
She's in the picture...where's the little dog?
Hiding out...where's the little dog?
A personal favorite...
So, today I hope that you have someone or something to bring you as much joy as my "little dog" has!

January 28, 29, & 30: Family and Friends

Well friends, my 31 Days, 31 Friends blog has hit an unexpected bump in the road! Seems like I've come down with pneumonia, bringing pretty much everything in my world to a halt. Sad to say it, but for me it seems to take a true catastrophic event to make me slow down and take a moment for myself!

Over the past few days, I have truly been the sickest I have ever been in my life. During this time, I have received countless messages, emails, and calls asking me how I am doing, if I need company, or if there is anything I need. What is impressive about that, though, is that I know each and every one of those offers was genuine and real. Not just a "hey, call me if you want to talk for a minute" kind of thing, but a real "yes, I WILL make you homemade organic chicken soup, and I'll also bake you bread and bring it all to your door." Those are the kinds of people I know, and man oh man, am I blessed.

One evening, one of my dearest friends brought me ginger ale, popsicles, balloons, and rubbed my terribly achy legs. My aunt spent a very long night on my (unfortunately dog-scented) couch motoring my temperature, my medication, and my comfort, and my best friend made sure that I was comfortable and entertained when I was well enough to make it out onto the aforementioned couch.

What is the importance of all of this? Well...to the general public, probably nothing. To me, though, this is a (thankfully) rare opportunity to reflect on the people who truly love me and to express my gratitude and thanks. I can't wait to be rid of this illness and return to my normal self, but I know that my many friends and family will be all around me every step of the way. This, my friends, is a note of thanks to all of the people who I am fortunate enough to have in my very blessed life. I love you all.
